Rarer than their ordinary counterparts, finding Somber Smithing Stones can be a challenge in Elden Ring. The best way to unlock unlimited Somber Smithing Stones for purchase is by finding Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing’s across the map to give to the Twin Maiden Husks in the Roundtable Hold. This guide will help players find Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing (4) to help upgrade the Tarnished’s rarer weapons to +7 and +8.
Where to Find the Bell Bearing (Location Spoilers Ahead)
In order to find Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing (4), the player must first journey to Crumbling Farum Azula, a Legacy Dungeon to the west, only reachable by teleportation. This location is accessed via the Forge of the Giants Site of Grace after players make their way through the Mountaintop of the Giants and kill the Fire Giant. After talking to Melina at the Site of Grace, she will teleport the player to the Dungeon.
Crumbling Farum Azula should only be tackled by Tarnished above level 100, ensuring not to go over certain level caps, with weapons upgraded as high as possible.

To reach the Bell Bearing, head to the Tempest-Facing Balcony Site of Grace. From the first Site of Grace, players will come across the ‘Crumbling Beast Grave Depths’; head forward and take a left past the archway.
Head down the stairs and jump onto a long, curved platform leading to two towers. At the end, head left through an archway illuminated by torchlight and take a right to the Crumbling Beast Grave Site of Grace.
Continue forward, past a sarcophagus and through an archway to the left flanked by wall sconces and pots. Keep going through another archway and head down some stairs and to the right; players will pass between rows of braziers and through another archway.
Here, they’ll reach the Tempest-Facing Balcony Site of Grace, overlooking the shattered, tempest-tossed ruins of a city, one of the many hidden locations in Elden Ring. On the north side of the balcony is a broken rail leading out to a cliff; simply drop down and see the Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing (4) resting on a body at the edge.
After grabbing the Bell Bearing, travel to the Roundtable Hold and follow the left passage to the Twin Maiden Husks, who sell items to the player. Offer them the Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing (4), and they will be supplied with an unlimited stock of Somber Smithing Stones (7) and (8) for 16000 and 20000 runes, respectively.
