Whether players want to with a sword that causes bleeding or a bow with various types of arrows, people can play the way they want. Fire damage can be rather effective in Elden Ring, so for players who prefer to watch the world and/or anything standing in front of them burn, it’s good to have an understanding of the best fire-damaging options that can be acquired in the Lands Between.

8 Grafted Dragon

The Grafted Dragon is a fist weapon that players get when trading the Remembrance of the Grafted item with Enia in Roundtable Hold. This remembrance is a reward for taking down Stormveil Castle’s main boss, Godrick the Grafted.

Fist weapons in general are a bit more cumbersome and risky than other weapons in Elden Ring, but the Grafted Dragon is so unique it’s worth checking out at least once. Its skill, called Bear Witness!, has the player drag the dragon’s head to the ground before hoisting it into the air where it rains down a volley of firebombs in a cascading blanket in front of the player. It’s hard to find a cooler feeling than wielding a literal dragon head like a sock puppet of sorts.

7 Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword

Elden Ring is filled with plenty of hand-crafted and well-thought-out details that make the world come alive. Designers did a good job at making weapons dropped by bosses reflect the type of things one would expect to be associated with said boss. The Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword is a perfect example.

This weapon looks like a chunk that’s been ripped out of the giant wyrm when players take down Magma Wyrm Makar in the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, located in the northern area of Liurnia of the Lakes. In addition to the base 74 fire damage it inflicts, its weapon skill Magma Guillotine unleashes a splash down of magma damage after the player lunges forward, while dual-wielded the massive curved greatsword.

6 Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear

Fire damage in the world of Elden Ring is usually associated with specific beasts or magical blades of some sort, but it’s rarely thought of as the type of elements attached to spears. Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear breaks the mold in this way as the great spear comes packed with 62 fire damage at its base.

Builds focused on strength, dexterity, and arcane will see the biggest scaling benefit when wielding this trident of sorts. Anyone wishing to obtain it will need to overcome Mohg, Lord of Blood, a rather tough boss the Elden Ring community has talked about at length.

5 Godslayer’s Greatsword

A weapon named Godslayer’s Greatsword feels like a weapon meant for the ultimate combatants. This colossal sword can be found in a chest after defeating Godskin Apostle in the Divine Tower of Caelid, meaning FromSoftware wanted players to work for this reward.

This god-slaying weapon has 119 physical damage, 77 fire damage, and 100 critical damage as its base. That’s not even considering its built-in skill, The Queen’s Black Flame. This move imbues the colossal sword with a black flame, followed by a devastating slash that flows into a combination attack.

4 Rivers Of Blood

Rivers of Blood sounds like a weapon known for causing bleed loss buildup, but it also happens to inflict a solid amount of fire damage. This katana scales best with builds centered on arcane, dexterity, and strength. It’s best for players who like to engage in combat at close to mid-range.

By killing Bloody Finger Okina near the Church of Repose, players will gain access to the katana and can see why it earned its name. The skill, Corpse Piler, is unique to Rivers of Blood. When activated, it showcases a bevy of attacks that release a stream of blood from the blade as it slices through the air.

3 Blasphemous Blade

By now people have likely seen the Blasphemous Blade pop up on a list documenting Easter eggs in Elden Ring, but the greatsword is much more than a shoutout to the beloved Souls-like indie game Blasphemous. In addition to its ability to critically strike enemies, it comes with a skill called Taker’s Flames. When used, this skill covers the blade in flames and will steal health from any living thing it touches.

From both a visual and effective perspective the Blasphemous Blade earns its spot as more than just a clever Easter egg. Obtaining it simply requires giving Enia at the Roundtable Hold the Remembrance of the Blasphemous, which is gained by defeating the boss Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy in Mt. Gelmir.

2 Eleonora’s Poleblade

As with most weapons in Elden Ring, Eleonora’s Poleblade is one that scales best with a specific set of attributes. Specifically, players making a build centered on dexterity and arcane will get the most out of the fire-damaging twinblade.

This weapon isn’t too hard to get ahold of, as it happens to be a boss weapon drop for anyone who defeats Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger in the Second Church of Marika. In addition to it connecting for fire damage upon landing, these twinblades also cause blood loss buildup, which can quickly put enemies on their back foot as they’re inflicted with several different things with every strike.

1 Sword Of Night And Flame

With a name like Sword of Night and Flame, this weapon has to hold its own in Elden Ring. Thankfully, the fact that it sounds like a powerful card from Magic: The Gathering is more than just a naming choice. Not only does this straight sword inflict fire damage, but it deals out magical damage in equal measure. The fact that it has such a low carrying weight makes it feel like a cheat code of sorts.

Players looking to get their hands on this sword will need to gain access to a locked room in Caria Manor. A bit of exploration and traversal on the grounds will result in the acquisition of arguably the coolest themed weapon in all of Elden Ring.

Elden Ring is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
